A dream is sometimes a prayer -
You hope they are heard.

NEVERMORE Completes 8-Album (+DVD) David Olney Live In Holland Series, Available June 10th

Photograph by Hatseflats Media.

Pieter Groenveld, Founder of Strictly Country Records, has been recording live concerts in Holland since 1993, including the David Olney Live In Holland series, featuring 8 full-length albums plus concert & exclusive interview DVD along with the new EVERMORE and NEVERMORE albums.

"This last edition is special not only because these songs were recorded during David's last two tours in Europe and his standard of performing had reached an all-time high, but also because of his sideman. Daniel Seymour is a master on the bass, be it the big bass or the electric. His sense of time, timing, space and expansion is second to none. The rapport between Olney and Seymour is tangible in every sound you hear.

"This CD - NEVERMORE - is a wonderful compilation of songs that show what we have to do without, but more than that, it keeps alive the memories of what magnificent times we had and how privileged we were to witness David Olney in Holland when he was Live."

Joanna Serraris, MuseMix, David Olney's longtime European booking & management representative and good friend

These final two recordings were captured before live audiences at the De Oude Veiling in Aalsmeer, De Zocherlounge in Bloemendaal and the Nic Jonk Statue Garden and Museum in Grootschermer in 2016 and 2018 while on tour in The Netherlands. Both albums feature longtime sideman, co-writer, and friend Daniel Seymour accompanying on bass and vocals. Word On The Street:

"EVERMORE captures the singer-songwriter performing a fine collection of songs before a friendly crowd. Today, the music seems just as vital as when Olney recorded these songs live in 2016 and 2018.” — Read the Full Review @ Pop Matters

"The expertise in these performances is stellar. Some subjects are unorthodox, but this is what makes them valuable…David had a 40+ year career, known to many famous artists & if it’s true John Prine is a national treasure – the likes of David Olney should be included in that introduction. Listening to these songs will easily allow one to become addicted to the Olney universe.” — Read On @ Americana Highways

"Most of his are dramatic and/or witty story songs that offer no shortage of philosophical messages, sarcasm, and brilliant poetry.” — Read On @ Glide Magazine

“… You are in for a rare treat discovering one of the Music Industry’s finest Troubadours. I love the depths [David Olney] plunges and the way he can make the ‘ordinary’ thing sound ‘extraordinary’ with his words and enunciation. Plus; he seamlessly straddles the worlds of Folk Singers, Country Singers and what we now know as Americana with effortless grace; probably making him the Last of the Troubadours? That said; knowing that this is the ‘last’ recording of a David Olney concert adds a certain pathos that wouldn’t be there were he still alive today.” — Full Story at Rocking Magpie

Want to know the Story Behind The Songs?
We have been featuring a song-a-day from the new EVERMORE with a direct quote from "Nashville's Answer to the Bard" on the David Olney socials for the past two weeks.

The video shared in honor of Track #10 - "Love Is" (written by David Olney, Kim Richey) - linked here was recorded live at Muziekpodium Bakkeveen. The EVERMORE album contains a recording from a different concert at another venue from the David Olney with Daniel Seymour October 2018 tour.

Follow along on the socials for more of these daily shares with a focus on the just-released NEVERMORE album tracks.

Quotes culled from pre-existing release materials and from David's YOU NEVER KNOW Songwriter Series video streamcast that ran for more than 10 years on his YouTube channel, where he performed a song and shared the story behind it.
